April 15 is Tax Day, but there is a great way to forget about your taxes. Go to a wine festival! And in Texas, there are a lot of wine festivals in April! There are too many festivals in April to list them all or even a large percentage of them, but here are just a few to visit. Be sure to check the 2016 Spring and Summer Wine Festivals list for the others.
Texas Wine & Rogue Art Fest
This Salado wine festival will be held April 2-3 on Main Street. There is free admission and you can buy six tasting tickets and a souvenir wine glass. Children in addition to pets on leashes are allowed. Start the month right and visit the Texas Wine & Rogue Art Fest website for more details.
Savor Dallas
Always a large event in Dallas, 2016 is sure to bring the same greatness as previous years. Events happen from April 7-10 in various locations in Dallas. The Grand Tasting will be held during the Saturday, April 9th, evening with culinary offerings paired with a large selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Visit the Savor Dallas website for tickets.
Lubbock Uncorked
Many people think about other parts of the state for wine festivals, but from where the majority of grapes are grown in the High Plains, comes the first annual Lubbock Uncorked wine festival on April 15th. Austin Food & Wine Festival
The Austin Food & Wine Festival will be held from April 22-24. A large lineup of top chefs, sommeliers, and winemakers will be present for tastings, libations, and hands-on-grilling demos. Messina Hof Wine & Roses
The Messina Hof 32nd Annual Wine & Roses Festival will be held on April 23rd at the winery in Bryan. There will be food vendors, local artisans, wine tastings, live music, and of course their famous grape stomp competition. Buy tickets and find all the other information on their website.
Rootstock Wine Festival
Another first year festival is the Rootstock Wine Festival which will be held in Waco on April 23rd. There will be over 15 Texas wineries present in addition to food vendors. Show some love to a first year wine festival. Check the Rootstock Wine Festival website for ticket information.
Granbury Wine Walk
The Granbury Wine Walk is always a popular wine festival and this year it is being held on April 29-30. A special VIP event starts on Thursday, April 28 and the Wine Walk starts on Friday.
